Aspen Ladd's fight sport experience began at 14 years old. Along with BJJ, she also trained in boxing, wrestling, and kickboxing. In the age of 18, Ladd made her debut as an amateur at WCFC. Ladd had an amazing 3-fight winning streak at Ultimate Reno Combat. In each of the three bouts she beat her opponent right in the first round. She went back to WCFC and defeated Leslie Rodriguez through a unanimous ruling. Aspen defeated Silvia B beghian and Maddy Simmons prior to facing Cynthia Calvillo. Cynthia beat Aspen to defeat her in an unanimous decision. This put an ominous mark on her record in her amateur. Ladd recovered from the defeat, and won Roma Pawelek at Tuff-N-Uff to take her record up to 8-1. Aspen was signed to Invicta FC in 2015 to start her journey as a professional. Invicta eleven saw Aspen take on Ana Carolina Vidal to score TKO victory in the opening round. Her next bout was a win in the ring against Amanda Cooper via second-round armbar submission. She then fought at bantamweight to fight at Invicta FC 16. Aspen's dazzling wrestling ability defeated McGill as she managed to finish her third round by TKO (elbows and strikes). Aspen later fought Jessica Hoy in Invicta FC 18, at the catchweight (138.1lb) in the event that Ladd did not have enough weight. In spite of this, Aspen was able to take on Hoy. She won with a TKO after the second round. Her final fight with Promotion, she fought Sijara Eubanks via an unanimous decision in Invicta FC 21. Aspen Ladd made her UFC debut at UFC Fight Night 118 against Lina Lansberg. She outclassed Lina with her ground and pound tactics, resulting in a TKO 2nd round win. The next time she fought Tonya Evinger at UFC 229, her victory was even more impressive. Ladd beat Evinger with a punch during the initial round, and earned a Bonus Performance of the Night. Invicta FC's Sijara Eubanks was her opponent in an rematch of UFC Fight Night dos Anjos against Lee. This was her first big fight. Both fighters fought a close fight that Ladd was victorious by a majority decision. Both fighters received the Fight of the Night Bonus. Ladd's first loss came in her next fight against Germaine de Randamie in Ladd's first UFC main event fight. Randamie only needed 16 seconds to stop Ladd and her winning streak. After a break of a few seconds her return to the ring and finished Yana Kunizkaya of the UFC in their ESPN 7 third-round fight. In a last-minute substitute for her UFC bout, she fought Norma Dumont during UFC Fight Night 195. She was defeated by a unanimous decision.
